Great news guys I was totally wrong (sorry) they don't both fall back :) it was a month ago I last looked at them and was dark when I put them in the shed so I made he whole thing up. Here are the pics...
Ps Morc kindly donated me something I was told I would need I don't know quite where it goes yet but I'm guessing I just need the bulk head bracket for passenger side and maybe hard fit the seats to the bars there - same way the current seats are bolted down?

  2. Nice seats, they look like they're in good condition. They are earlies though, so assuming your runners were removed to fit the porsche seats, you'll have to source some runners if you want the drivers seat to slide back and forward.
With the passenger seat, just below the hinge is a bar across the back of the seat, that slots into the bit mork has. When you lift the seat base, the back of the seat moves down slightly and disengages from the hook which bolts to the bulkhead.

  4. Your runners might still be there, mine were and the seats that I removed had just been bolted over the top
They are only on the drivers side.

I seem to remember when I took mine out it was sort of a bracket on a bracket that was bolted to the bulkhead (rather than a single bracket). I must have it in the garage somewhere but it'd help if I could remember what it looked like! Any one got a picture?

  8. Man, this thread is soooooooooo long for a simple thing like working out what you have and what you need.

Dean the seats you posted a pic of are E A R L Y / Mid bay -they will still fit so the runners below (both drivers and passanger)...read on.......

If you have seat runners in the bus they will look like what is on the pic below but welded to the wheel tubs (the top pair is for a RHD vehicle and the bottom for a LHD vehicle; the longer of the runners sitting but the door)

    Passanger lower brackets like so

Passanger site upper clip was posted a while back but here again -you need one of these to clip the back of the seat in to the bulkhead

It's only simple if you know the answer; clearly we didn't.
Dean, I'll have a look tomorrow.
If your seats are early though (they seem to have a different fitting on the seat back than the photo of the late seats) I'm not sure they'll fit.

  10. I have edited my post above -Dean, have a look at the pics and anything missing from the pics I have posted you will need.

Simples when you know how ;)

So the retaining bracket on the bulkhead is the same for an early and a late?

Dean - Mr postman should bring you the bracket - I do have the other one somewhere, at the moment I cant find it but I will look for it. I'll be up at the garage tomorrow, if I find it again its in the post following the first one

  17. Dean, put up a sodding pic of what you have please :banghead:

I have told you what the seats you have posted a pic of are out of and also shown you both RHD and LHD seat runners to match the seats you have shown (perhaps I should have made this clearer)

If you want to fit the seats you have shown then look at the pics I have put up and if you don't have it you need it.

Alternatively, if you have late runners (they look different) then I suggest you sell on your seats and buy some late ones.

Either way, please put up a picture of what you have -this is like pulling teeth

    :ttiwwp:

Come on chap, it's not difficult, just frustrating for us bothering to help you

Dean, I've found a bracket like the one in the pictures. If you can confirm it'll fit early seats i'll send it to you. Or, I'll send it anyway, and if it doesn't fit you could send it back.
Up to you mate but its here if you want it.
