Taking the camper for its first long run

  1. Really sorry to read this thread.

  2. So to add up my last two weeks, my crewcab got condemned and needs 2k of welding, I reversed my camper into my missus's car damaging both, engine blew up on the camper and the roof come off. Surely it can only get better from now on?

  3. Sorry to read this post mate , feel for you ,is a bummer.

  4. Marmite mate that is depressing, I feel for you.
I just refitted my rebuilt engine, took it for a little drive, on the way home the hose feeding the external filter split, and I left a trail of oil! Luckily some guy flagged me down, just and I pulled over the pressure on the gauge dropped and the light came on, dipped clutch and killed the engine!
Though I'd *****ed it after 6 miles FFS but I repaired hose, filled with oil, drove it home, replaced pipe with new 20 bar hydraulic hose and all is ok I think for a minute.
Starting to get a bit depressed though, I can't keep worrying about this stuff happening every time I go out in it let alone when/if we go camping more than 10 miles away!

Not good to hear of your problem. Trouble is that the 7 miles to work really wasnt enough to get it really hot.

I have driven 17 miles before the engine showed signs of distress through having insufficient airflow on one occasion it must have been a bent thermostat rod jamming the flaps shut. The other was covers on the vents being left on . Got to 130 oil temp so I stopped as the oil warning light came on.
