My 1sr race prep scoot was an SX200 as well. Standard class so not cut down. Changed to a GP frame with SX headset and rearset brake to put more weight on the front, standard class as well but i couldnt afford the level of tune i thought it needed to be competitive so i chanced it and had it bored to 225. (Q really bad mod song by the Killermeters. Mine might be around as the GP was sold in road trim and the SX i gave to a mate whos AF i totalled!
I'd only had the last one '62 Li for about 8 years and didn't think I had any sentimental reasons for keeping it, sold it as it wasn't getting used since getting the van and thought the cash would be well.spent on the it....I learned that I did have a sentimental attachment to it and I still don't know where the money went...certainly not where it was meant to .. They're only lumps of metal when all said and done...there's always another one .. Sent from my 3T using Tapatalk
Getting harder to come by now though. I only paid £650 for mine as a none runner. Cost a lot to restore though. It was an Italian import.
Ouch! Mine wasn't sophisticated enough to have rear sets. Not even a hydraulic front brake so I made do with the reverse pull trick with the cable. We used to run the race pistons in by riding through town to the top of Barton Cutting on the A6, topside of Luton. Once at the top it was full throttle down hill until you heard that horrible screeching sound of it all melting inside. An hour at the bottom stripping it all down & rubbing down the high spots followed by a ride home! I wasn't fortunate enough to work in a scooter shop
A mate has this for sale..recently restored to a very high standard knowing him..no idea of price yet, I think he's testing the water Sent from my 3T using Tapatalk
I made my own rearset and hydraulic front disc by copying a DTC one (remember them). It was after i worked at PM and i was doing skivvying jobs all over to pay the bills. Travel was difficult hence my career didnt last long lol. That and stuffing road scooters! Love the running in methodology lol.
We ought to have a late bay trip to Caldwell later this year , I took the van a couple.of years ago, cracking weekend @Dicky its Italian , 1962 125 , bog standard but built to take a larger top end

I'm up for it! Chips' farm storage is only about 15 miles away back towards Lincoln. We love staying in the paddock so that'd be a right crack!! The more the merrier...
