I'm up for it ..would have to check the dates though, it was September when I went last time round Sent from my 3T using Tapatalk
At the farm. Not a 'paddock' as such but a nicely mown field with views across towards RAF Scampton. If we're lucky we'll get a free air display as the Arrows can be seen across the fields when they practice. June last year...... Roll on summer.................
That would be handy for the airshow...once at waddington now at Scampton http://scamptonairshow.com Sent from my 3T using Tapatalk
Indeed, you've obviously met my plane spotting Mrs Monkey One of 'many' from Waddington, Patrouille de France...big couilles...but not as big as the Arrows
Scooter racing is brill. Its just like bike racing but by the time youve got your knee down the rest of you is about to go down too. That said, ive applied the same principle to motorcycles on a good few occasions.
Proper blast from the past this. I lived within walking distance of Taffspeed racing in Newport - Turbo Terry and the unique smell of Silkolene and KFC.
My hero from way back was Pete Mullinder who lived in Chalton & did our tuning. He's no longer with us but here lining up (left) with Jim Hackett from Luton Lambretta Club at Cadwell in the early '80's I was a novice at this race in the 225 specials class & my good mate was a novice in the 150's. He managed to fall off in front of me & I ran over his foot How we laughed, it was nearly as distressing for me as it was for him. I'd forgotten about that...
Someone sent a photo of my first Pk which had a zirri 135 reverse barrel and zirri exhaust ...the thing flew for a '50' and would pop wheelies for fun...I weighed a third of what I do now though Sent from my 3T using Tapatalk
A good mate if mine had Taffspeed's first water cooled kitted PK, had it painted pink on purpose and used to go hunting RD 125's...................
Men were men then... ...scrutineering insisted on a 'Gold' ACU sticker on your helmet. We had a mate who worked in a bike shop who 'got hold' of a reel of them
