Think he means your tank breathers and it looks like they vent through the tin to underneath because you have pancake air filters!

The fuel tank breather is that small hose coming of the blue ‘T’ at the top of the engine bay. Looks like it’s either lying on top of the tin or passing through it – it should be connected to one of the air-filters.
The crankcase breather comes off of the tower behind the fan shroud on the right as you look at the engine. I can’t see the hose at all in your pic but that should be connected to the other air-filter, if it’s open the heater fan will pump fumes into the cabin.
That hole for the alternator adjustment behind the oil filler cap should also have a cover; you’re losing cooling air.

  6. Thanks for that , I know about the alternator cover on the look out for one but the other issue needs further investigations to make sure all is good .

Engine breather box on top of engine, little rectangular steel box with a little outlet pipe ...should have a long pipe attached to the outlet going into one of your air filters .
I have the same type air filters as yours ...and someone before me drilled a hole slap bang on the top middle of the filter and piped it in there thread and nut fit attachment .

To be honest i am going to pipe mine through the tin ware and expel the fumes out to the open ...as mine breathes a bit and contaminates the air filter ...cant be doing the carb any good .
Google type 4 engines you will see on some of them how the pipe comes out

I once had a go with a proper windscreen scratch remover kit. It replaced scratches with visual distortion . It used fine grade wet and dry then cerium oxide on a polishing pad. The idea was you melted the oxide into the scratches..

Best fix was when a stone went through it

    And a new windscreen.
