That sounds like your battery is quite knackered and your alternator is getting feeble, I bet you can flash the headlamps by booting the accelerator in neutral too...

  6. Started on a spare door , doesn`t look bad in the pic but there were another 7 patches needed on the outer .. :(
Much easier than trying to sort out the original yeller one but after cutting out all the rust decided to buy a skin and do the job properly .

Bit miffed about the door but took out the screen expecting the worse .
    Hurrah !
No rot !! celebrated by taking off the luggage cap .
All in all a better day than yesterday when i decided the best way forwards was to buy a box of matches..

  7. Well today I have sorted the leak I had on my brakes and topped up the fluid, grease my nipples lol childish I know but it makes me laugh and final fitted and wired the leisure battery that I started at the last techenders allowing me to take out the 2 six volt ones from under the seat that the P.O. had fitted god they were heavy 34.1 kilos each.

There's not much I can say in my defence, other than it was already there when I bought the camper.... but it does cook a lovely pizza, and I can knock up a mean cottage pie.
But the best thing...... It's gas ;)

Door membrane put on in a rush :)
Door card back on too. Hurrah for having a door pocket again, first time in a year (or 2?)

    Into the finishing strait.....
Back bumper refitted, stone chipped the rear wheel arches, put the leisure battery back in, and got some white rattle can paint on the cab roof as a temporary protection until it can be done properly at the end of the summer- the windscreen will need to come back out then too as there is the start of some rusting that I would prefer not to get any worse, so it can be sprayed up at the same time. A wash and dry of the new paint and......
    Guess who’s home?

Running out of enthusiasm now, but did keep going until I’d got the door cards back on as I loathe the job and couldn’t face going back to it. I’ll do the sliding door tomorrow at work and give it a good clean on my lunch break.
    Happy days

Hopefully adjusted rear brakes by twiddling the stars...
Yet to connect handbrake cables but that's for another day bit awkward under there have to do it in shifts..
Unfortunately noticed the beginnings of various engine oil leaks.
Will have drop the engine in the near future and go through the seals.
No doubt a job in progress............keeps us busy I guess.:)

Since the Wilmas pointed out that the door pockets looked like gentleman’s under garments they have become a little unnerving

Yes Barn it's my seals that have worn out..o_O
Think the engine seals are about thirty years old, it was a NOS Cold War NATO spare that I bought about four years ago.

  18. Spent the last couple of days on titivation - touched up some rusty bits on the roof / gutters while there was a chance of the paint drying before rain on Saturday. Fitted draught excluder foam to the louvre windows and managed to break the mechanism on one side, but no matter I've sealed that one shut now - hardly ever use them tbh. Fitted new stereo and speakers too as the old one sounded like a mobile phone in a biscuit tin so rarely got used. Now have much more bass and equalisation flexibility plus a hands free for the phone![IMG]
