Bought it a an electronic car battery tester at a boat jumble for a fiver ..
Needed a duff repair repaired, a wire soldered on the battery positive clip and a quick clean up of the LCD connector.

My 360CCA Bosch S3 can manage 500CCA.. it is about 18 months old.
The leisure battery can manage 650CCA.. its nearly new. And its not a starter battery.

My 307 battery can manage 394 out of 640.. and my wifes 307 can manage 500 out of 640..

It measures the internal resistance and voltage of the battery by loading it with pulses of a couple of amps.

Fitted the hook up socket and cable to the distribution box... can’t believe that’s taken 2 years to do!!

Also tried the new 15” spare with a matching tyre to my alloys on the rear. Happy there’s no clearance issues!!

  5. Nice new plastic nose, so she fits in with all the other 45 year-olds in Chelsea.

  9. Today I have been under the bus, took the gearbox to chassis earth strap off and gave it a good clean, measured up for a new battery lead and put a new earth on the battery. Continued running my leisure supply lead that's going towards the front of the bus. Had a poke round the front beam and checked the grease nipples, and sprayed the nuts/bolts each end of the front shocks with some penetrating oil, next week I will jack the bus up grease the beam and changed the shocks. Surprising how little you get done, about to pop back out and fit a new seat belt to the drivers side.

  15. So. yesterday evening I enjoyed the footy by completely ignoring it & cleaning Harvey's vacant engine bay with a (not my) toothbrush...a bit more work this evening and it'll be ready for a splash of paint, to compliment his newly painted tinware.

BTW...has anyone managed to remove the stock air-box bracket without completely trashing it?! I'd like the option to potentially return to stock at some point, but the welds don't seem very accessible. I was hoping that the bracket was held on with some nice simple easy-to-drill-out spot welds....but no, its seam welded :(

Surprised a bright red Ferrari with it.

Sitting at traffic lights amd somebody in an Audi pulled alongside and did the usual acellerate and cut in trick.

As usual, I floored it and ended up quite close behind the Audi. Its a 30 limit so most cars have to back off the pedal not far ahead as I hit the top end of second gear ...

I had to back off to let the Ferrari behind the Audi pull back in.

I was so happy not to have another 12 hour day at work, doing one project in the morning then helping another project in the USA. At least I escaped a business trip this weekend to Louisiana ..

    Rinsed the dust off it.
    Polished two wheels.
Fitted a T piece to the oil pressure sender hole to let my electronic sender run a bit cooler away from the engine block.
Even the Chinese maker only claims it works up to 120 degrees C
And I re fitted a stock pressure switch to see when it actually closes.

Used it to go to a timber recycling facility in Southampton and buy materials for raised beds in the allotment.

Where strangely there was a sign saying yes, because of nation wide demand, the price of recycled scaffholding boards is actually higher than new ones... £18 vs £13.
