I could be wrong but by the time the heat/flame sets that off it will be too late and would just make a mess of the floor.

You want the glass bit above the most likely source of the fire so it's detected early heat rises and that the extinguisher releases its contents onto the fire.

 

My engine bay fire would have missed that. Flames were more up the top. I would fit it horizontally above the engine.

 

Were those indicator seals from C&C? I got some but found they were totally different to the original, which is more like some u channel that fits around the outside edge.

 

Woken up in it, plus actual work on it.

Topped up the oil and changed one of the fan housing to heat exchanger pipes.

 

I think they were yes.

Can't fit them horizontally aparently...... it's a gas one so should fill the while compartment not just underneath it. ... as long it gets hot enough to go off.... might have another look

Thats the problem.. the top of the engine bay gets hot with flames licking over it, the bottom is clear except where there is a pool of petrol..you really need one like a Blazecut where the tube snaked around the engine bay roof melts above the fire.

Today I have been mostly driving it on and off recovery vehicles....the saga started at 10 this morning, just sat down with a coffee at home....we were only 150 miles away on Anglesey!

Clipped a kerb in Beaumaris and rear nearside brakes decided to self destruct...May have a look today ....may!

But remember - what falls off must bolt on again!

 

It's big and it's hairy and I be afraid of it ...

 

Weather was windy but dry so removed old starter bush using a tap then fitted new bush using a bolt to tap it in... well a hammer to tap the bolt to tap the bush in, but you get what I mean.

Then spotted this lurking behind the drive shaft / heater pipe.

Tried to solder prior to heatshrinking but cables too big for the iron.
Ordered a gas one from amazon (£8), arrives tomorrow.

Then it started raining, so I’ll tidy the house to get some brownie points from the mrs.

 

Finally got chance to do a post tour oil & filter change today.

Nearly shat myself when there was a noise near where my head was.

A squirrel darted under the van and into my twisted hazel tree.

Another squirrel shat itself as much as me and legged it down the side of the garage!

 

Son of Headbanger making progress. He'll get a good rasping tomorrow.

 

Ours has been in for about a week. Camped in the van at my folks and think we both hit our heads on it both nights we were there!
