  7. OK guy. Another problem =/

I am confused. Should i use EJ20, which i already have and got all electrics and mounts sorted. OOrrrr should i use EJ20T. Using turbo engine could make me some new problems with positioning the turbo, need wiring done... and may effect on the time of finishing the bus.

I need to make a decision fast, and regarding this then i will order a LPG convertion system

    Is EJ20 fast enough?

  8. Is urs the dohc? I friend of mine had a dohc 175ps n/a ej20 in his t25 and he reckons its quick enough so in a bay it'll be quicker still

With the EJ20T you've got to find somewhere for the turbo and a cooling headache. If you can do it you'll have a fun bus!
I've got the n/a EJ20 and it's quick enough. Not blistering and not going to set the world alight but it makes for a fun useable bus.

  10. I've got EJ20 sohc engine. 116hp.

I know that the problem could be with positioning of turbo, but knowing that i've got t3 chassis and the fuel tank is in the front of the bus, i may be plenty of space for turbo.

If the fuel tank is at the front you'll have loads of space.
116bhp might not be fun enough, mines 150+.

  12. I just came from friends garage. Measured the engine and now we'll see how will things go along.

Inter cooler will be "front" kit, mounted in front of the water cooler on the back. Fingers crossed

  13. U have the same engine as me then. I plan to keep with the sohc for abit and mayb upgrade gearbox and engine at a later date

  14. @jimmy1975t2 that is what i need. Information from the man who has this kind of setup. Do you think that you need more power? What would you do if you were on my place?

  15. *forget that you're still building it =)

  16. Haha I'm still building mine so haven't a clue how it goes as yet but anythin has to be better than the old 45bhp aircooled unit lol. Personally I would get the bus built up and working as the ej20t will use the same mounts etc as the sohc. I'm makin it so that my engine loom is independent to the rest of the van with its own fuse/relay box so that if I wish to upgrade the engine at a later date then I would just need to remove the n/a wiring from the fuse/relay box and wire in the turbo loom

  17. I get it. But by my setup if i would like to mount EJ20T i will need to adjust middle panel, in front of the engine.

I have a plenty of space above the gearbox. But still i need to make a room for a A/C components and blower and heater. All above the gearbox

I'd go turbo if you're making everything to suit anyway.

  20. Agreed!!

My type 4 motor is 150bhp... And in its next incarnation it's going to be turbo'd

And while 116bhp in a bus is a fair whack more than stock, I can tell you now it won't be enough!! :)
