I'm in a quandry about what to do with my seats - they are the originals from 1978, but need drastic refurbishment - the drivers one in particular has several rips and at least one broken spring. I was wondering if T25 seats are an easy fit - I don't want to stray too far from VW seats as I find them comfy as a rule....
Im pretty sure the runners from a 78 bay are the same as the early t25 runners T25 seats are a great upgrade because there designed for a van and you get a headrest
Nice one - I'll be on the look out for some early T25 ones then... Mine (being a Devon camper) has the seats with headrests. They may not have been put in panel van models though as they would likely have a partition behind the bulkhead maybe?
Tried the seating position, it's the same height as the originals, they're sooper comfy and don't overfill the cab area, plus I like the retro style and when they are slid back they finish at the end of the tub. When the passenger seat is turned into the back it feels more comfortable than the original so I'm pleased with them so far.........off to the upholsterers then
I fitted Porsche 924 seats into mine and its the best thing I did and my originals had been refurbished a few years before. Porsche seats seem to be the best because of the thinner seat squab. Seats like Saab make you sit up high. Had one in with seats we think we're from a Montego and my eye line was at the top of the door.
We've got a wedding in two weeks, then three weeks travelling Asia, then it'll be Christmas and new year, hence the upholsterer will have to wait.........it's killing me to see them sitting there when I know how good they will be in the bus.
