Eddie doesnt mind a Late Bay being there during the Split Screen weekend of Stanford Hall. After all Victoria Farm is also a general campsite but with not many facilities. (As a C&CC certificated site, they are / were regarded as adequate for 10 camper units..) with TLB its Ok with maybe 50, the Splitties may be 200..

Some of us arrive Thursday before TE and leave Monday or Tuesday..

  3. Looking for some better quality exhaust clamps, the ones that come with the set-up from JKs seem Marmitee.

  5. Ian get yourself some cable ties https://www.screwfix.com/p/cable-ties-natural-140mm-x-3-5mm-100-pack/40755
Unless you have some knocking about, these are a must for fitting the larger support ring.
Clip two ties onto each ring, then fit the Boot.
    Too
the back side of the boot you have fitted use the ties to pull (slightly) apart the ring and then feed the ring around, once done it a couple of times is easy. Drop me a line if you get stuck or not sure.

See picture but this is the older style boot (single) which seem to pop off.

I'd like to know what tools you used to split the joint apart. At the moment I only have a smallish one that I used on the drag link . Its only for around dia 18mm and opens up to maybe 45-50mm max...

Research seems to show you have to buy the bigger size at over £100 a go for a Sykes -Pickavant brand one, because none of the cheaper £15-£25 ones have jaws that open far enough, and/ or are possibly not able to provide adequate force before they start flowing.

The pickle fork style and BFH is OK provided you have something to act as an anvil to close up the tines of the fork after you have hit it hard enough to split a Bay balljoint from the arm sometimes. And you definitely need a new boot unless you are lucky.

That's one I borrowed IDK the make or the spec. Later I bought a cheaper one on ebay and don't know the spec of that either! Commonly known as a lorry ball joint splitter. I paid £85 fifteen years ago.

I just measured and it looks like 67-70mm jaw opening will do..
