You forgot the famous Moskvich and the Zil, both equally rubbish

Although, My mate who drove top of the range Volvo trucks in and out of Kazakhstan said he was constantly amazed to see Zil pick ups pull up alongside him with a driver and mate in very little warm clothing shirt sleeves rolled up merrily trundling around in minus temperatures while he sat in his air conditioned cab wearing thermal clothing and generally being cosseted from the elements big time!

I’d seem a bit odd ( er ) if I stopped where it is and took a picture, it’s a fast bit of road on a nasty bend!

    Wow - proper survivor!

Reminds me of a Toyota Corolla at the Toyota dealership in Loughborough in the early 2000's

They had a real survivor early 70's Corolla - plainly been loved by some old boy or girl - pretty much as new that they has in the showroom celebrating something to do with Corolla's.

It was in there for a few months - then pretty much abandoned in the back lot, out in all the weather for years.

The last place you find people that love cars is an actual car dealership.

  12. Before the Second World War, Berlin was a city of car manufacturers.
Some automotive car makers are still active here producing parts (Mercedes) or engineering (also VW) or still producing bikes (BMW). Or new: Tesla.

Some were very big - like NAG or Brennabor which built a large assortment of trucks, cars, sports cars etc.
Ford also used to build cars in Berlin before moved to Cologne.
Some are known from movies as the Rumpler (raindrop shape in the 1920s) from the movie Metropolis.
Or in the 60s the Amphicar (amphibious automobile) in movies as Inspector Clouseau or in episodes of The Simpsons etc.
Some may know Rometsch - building e.g. VW beetle 4 door taxis and some luxury sport cars based on beetle in the 1950s owned by Gregory Peck or Audrey Hepburn.

My list of lost carmakers (with location, time frame) only of Berlin, Germany:

That's just so thorough and comprehensive how do you follow it:)?
I was idly musing over extinct British sports and racing cars and seeing if I could find one for each letter of the alphabet. I failed, and had to look some up. It's not a comprehensive list, just ones I could think of off the top of my head, hence the 30s-70s bias.
Allard, Alvis, Atalanta, AC, Arnott, Ascari, Austin-Healey
Buckler, Berkeley, Bond, BSA, Bristol, BRM
Cannon, Clan, Chevron, Cooper, Costin, Connaught, (I had Crosslé in this list but they are still in business)
    Dellow, Diva, Deep Sanderson
    Evante (see Vegantune), Elva, ERA
    Frazer Nash, Fairthorpe
    Gordon Keeble, GN, Gilbern, GTM
    Heron, HRG, Healey
    Invicta
    Jowett, Jeffrey, Jensen, Jensen-Healey
    Kieft
    Liege, Lola, Lea-Francis
    Marcos, Midas, MiniJem
    Napier, Nova
    Ogle, O & C
    Peerless, Piper, Panther
Quantum, Quasar – an odd cube shaped car, not a sports car although it was made by Unipower.
Reliant, Rochdale, Railton, Riley, Raymond Mays
Squire, Sylva, Swallow Doretti, Sunbeam, Singer, Speedex
TVR, Trident, Triumph, Turner, Tornado, Terrapin (the racing car not the WWII amphibian vehicle)
    UVA, Unipower
    Vale, Vegantune
    Warwick
(Xtra – as mentioned by others. Doesn’t really belong here as it’s a cyclecar.)
(Y.E.C. – light car from 1920s. Had to look it up
    )
Zytec, (Zenos-another search result), (Zendik – a cycle car like the Xtra, and I had to look it up)

Well done, a well worked out effort. I think the previous poster may have copied and pasted his reply.

Thanks. Remembered a couple more: Dutton and Pelland, who did a VW engined sports car, I think, before dabbling with steam power.
    OK, back to cogitating slowly.

Another victim of the big American buy out rip off. I think it used to be called asset stripping but nowadays rebranded as streamlining!

or getting rid of a competitor!

  18. Agreed , I think they went belly up about 15 years ago. When I moved to That London 10 years ago I'd never seen an integralle (?) on the road but there was an immaculate mid 80s one parked just up the street , I'm not into cars at all but its classic lines just stood out and brightened up my day whenever I walked past .
A couple of months later - gutted - it had been shunted by a drunken arse whilst parked up and disappeared a week later , probably written off ...
