Nothing surprises me just been reading about the fact that the navy doesn't have an anti ship missile capability. @mikedjames Exocet and 4.5 guns had two different purpose. Range of the gun significantly shorter than the Exocet. Once had a couple of weeks in a ship that fired all four Exocet off the front, that was an interesting evolution to be involved in.
Unfortunately the MOD has a terrible reputation for delivering projects that are over budget and delayed, so by the time they become operational they are often obsolete. Top Brass insisting on having the overall say on specification is often the case.

Well it looks like game on. Anyone that didn’t think it would come to this was deluded. Sanctions were the equivalent of taking their green shield stamps off them! Appeasement was our approach inCrimea then why wouldn’t Vlad go for it. This now can’t end well!
Sadly I think that once Putin had started parking his tanks up it was never going to end well. I don’t believe diplomacy is ever going to work with Putin
Putin and his massive armies and arms will easily over run Ukraine which seems to have some pockets of resistance which realistically could do little against the might of Russia. Russia has dealt with the resistance before and knows its on a small scale. The EU and UK may offer help to Ukraine but I feel most people there will just accept the Russian takeover as happened in Crimea. I think the Ukraine people knew it was coming and few seemed to be looking to leave. Our pointless and paltry sanctions against Russia will not bother Putin one bit. I do hope it doesn't turn into a full scale war.
people are already looking to leave. Putin Will know this and he will be well aware how “welcome” millions of refugees will be in the West. A destabilised West is to his advantage. Of course he doesn’t have his poodle Trump around any more but he’ll have other avenues he can pursue. A vile bullying, homophobic dictator. I sincerely hope at some point he gets what he deserves.
