Lay underneath it for a few hours this morning fixing the Propex in place. Finished wiring it all up and attaching the hot air and return pipes to the existing walkway vent and under bench seat vent respectively and insulated the hot air pipe. All working nicely on mains power. Now have to sort out gas pipe routing etc.

Got cold and came indoors to watch the rugby...very lazy afternoon indeed glowing in the mornings successes :)

Surely that water would end up in the floor channel behind the kickboards, not in the main cab area?

I started her for the first time this year, it took a minute or two to run clean, then I went out to buy takeaway lunch, enjoyed sat in the back with music from my phone on the stereo.

Then home for a good bath (Dougal, not me).

  7. Popped down to look at the battery voltages and instantly regretted not going for a cheeky night away yesterday . Lure of the rugby kept me in lazy mode and both matches were epic although my head wouldn`t agree this morning ...

Or a dehumidifier inside - works a treat. Safer and pretty cost effective

  9. If it is stuck down tight enough with no spaces for water to be sucked under by capillary action I’m sure it will be fine

It runs down until it gets to the headlamp bowls where it goes two ways.
One is down the front of the bus and into the area in front of the kick panels. If your kick panels are touching the headlamp bowls, some starts running down the back of the kick panels then down onto the floor. And it will then run downhill ..

I h ad a mystery damp carpet on the passenger side.
Changed to a rubber sheet under the carpet and then found one of the pressed channels in the floor kept filling up. As well as the area in front of the kick panels. New indicator seals stopped that.

I made a bracket for the Propex heater inlet and exhaust out of a stainless steel strip.
Bolted to the rear outrigger via two rivnuts.

And changed the rigid brake line on the wheel beside it.

I think you have a weird bus, Mike. Let's face it, it does eat engines. Don't think my headlamp bowls touch my kickboards. You'll be happy to know that I replaced the complete indicator units including the seal though :)

  13. Friday: MOT, no advisories. Yes i know i don't need one but its good to have someone else check it over.
Sat: fixing oil leaks, clean the inside for the first time in foreever. removed a ton of sand and dirt, took about an hour to hoover all of the dog hairs out of the rear seat. ffs.
Sun: check valve gaps, fresh oil and filter.

I have a tiny bit of cracking on the servo hose so i'm going to order a new one and will do the fuel hoses too - look ok but they've been fitted for prob 8 yrs now? Just need to work out which kit i need from aircooledworks to suit my ICTs.

Volksworld on sat - weather is looking pants unfortunatly.

  15. Taxed it

What a complete waste of time. I have to go to a website, enter the number off a letter they sent me, then click ok. And its taxed for free for another year.

Tidied up my leisure fuse box and connections now that I've added the Propex heater into the mix.

Made a new 'tongue' for the bench seat lock. I had the lock part but not the bench seat part, so I did some metal bending/filing/ shaping and low and behold it now works :)

Off to the Menshed tomorrow to put him on the lift and do some maintenance - grease nipples, handbrake adjustment after 100 miles, tidying the Propex fit and figuring out the routing for the gas pipes.

Went to see how it’s faired in dry winter storage.
Very good is the answer, fired up first time since October!
