Been for Majors MOT today, passed with flying colours, an advisory, the front brakes were slightly imbalanced but not outside the 30% fail criteria.

  3. After mikedjames told me about the CSP shift coupler, installed today, not driven yet but can tell straight away much more crisp. Also two new brake light switches as one was shot and wasn't paying £5 per fking screw for dash pod so fit some wood which works just fine.
So basically a good day was had

  4. last insulation job is the cab floor but i was informed that only need to cover 30% with the hex due to weight?
Was planning hex then the cab floor liner with mat on top.

40 to 50% for the Dodomat (any Bitumen 2mm mat) is ideal. You're just adding mass with this to stop the drumming. I bought a roll and had loads left so mine is a bit over kill.
I'm going to put the 7mm foiled closed cell foam over that on the floor, same as I've done for the complete tubs. I've got a homemade layer of rubber mat going over that, then the OG rubber mat on top. Rubber mats going over the bit under both seats too.
This had better make it quieter!

  9. It is a bit over the top, but if you had some going spare...

The bitumen mat is essential, but you don't need much of it, just a patch in the centre of panels to stop them drumming, as per modern cars.

I've budgeted just enough left to do the roof when I get round to it ;). Hopefully all back together and drive him again tomorrow.

I'm in the middle of building my gas locker and I read somewhere that the bulkhead mounted regulator needs to be above the cylinder....how important is this as it would make my life a lot easier if it was just below the neck of the bottle, about 10cm below the valve outlet on the bottle.

Secondly, I'm knackered and confused so I thought I'd check; does the olive from the regular go on as I've shown below?

    Thanks

  14. Rock & Roll bed/ mattress test and finished of lining to rear. Off to the upholsterers tomorrow and hopefully my interior cabinets should be ready, let's hope my calculations are good .

Tried the gears today with new coupler and massive difference, well worth the time & money to swap out the original one.

The problem is that you could potentially get liquid gas condensing in the pipe above the regulator if its not at the top of the pipe coming from the cylinder, if the regulator is above, liquid can run back.

The olives would point that way, the seal is between the fitting and the taper on the olive going into the matching taper on the fitting.

[There is also a range of fittings available that just use that taper to seal without olives.]

Meanwhile it gets crushed into sealing onto the pipe at the other end.

Thanks Mike. That confirms what I'd read on the internet about height location. I've figured out how I can do it but it will require a bit of rework, so el vino is helping me accept that ...:burp:

As for the olive, that's what I thought as well, but it came in the box the other way round and the instructions don't mention it!

The new fridge is fitted, and all the stuff that was getting in the way of the new wiring has been put back in its rightful home.
I've been running the electric hook up and the 12v - both work lovely to keep things cold.
    Right, lets go camping now.
