  2. I’ve always been aware that my fridge runs in a sealed cupboard so is just recirculating the same air over and over.

As there is a gap between the cupboard and the bulkhead behind the drivers seat I got out my hole saw and made some ventilation. Who knows it may even provide a tiny bit of heat, unlike the heating system.

  4. An advantage of buying a bus from a carpenter. They are American Light Oak, but won’t do much for my top speed as I think they might be rather heavy.

You could attach a 12 volt PC cooling fan to the compressor wiring to help it move air while the compressor is running- both my coolboxes had a fan built in arranged to help with the evaporator cooling.

What I hope to do today....I'm off with some mates to the NEC Practical Classics in a moment, that is if I can get past Heathrow and possible traffic madness due to the sub station fire

  8. That's on the list for this year although it bugs me having to cut a hole in the side after filling in the gas fridge flu vent ...

Finally fitted the bargain sun visors from @Silver - thank you! But because I am so brilliant at complicating even the most simple jobs, I broke the plastic bit that holds it to roof. So had to reuse the old plastic bit, then to discover the the other end on the roof is broke, so had to order a replacement...and the new visors make me realise how grubby the headliner is! Still got to have a bit of fun driving around in it the last few days which is what it's about!

We're getting there. It's slow work but it's 2/3 clean now

If you have the clips on the roof both sides, you can unclip and swing either of the visors round to the top of the door windows.

Going to check out inside the nosecone for the wear on the "doughnut" on the hockeystick and the silver paste from a spinning bearing? Or is that done already?

Is that going to make any difference?

I’d have thought you needed holes at the back or bottom so air can move around

  16. Ever onwards... As Mike says, take the nosecone off while you've got the chance and have a looksee. You likely need a new pivot ball.

One good thing is it looks like it had a rubber boot on the gearchange rod, so maybe the bushing and lip seal it goes through on its way into the gearbox has kept the oil in and the dirt out better than without that rubber boot.

All my tyres (2 new and 3 existing) are back in the wheels after I powdercoat them. Unfortunately, the place I went to (National tyres) couldn't balance them as their machine didn't have the right central hub nut and so could not tighten on my wheels! The guys in the shop were really helpful and one of them has been around bays all his very young life, courtesy of his mum and dad's obsession, but I now have to find an alternative balancer!

I've had trouble finding anyone to balance wide fives but not these ones.
