Or something like that. A deconstructed Accuspark may come first - Hall sensor on ali bracket in distributor, power switch ( rest of thick film hybrid module from inside potting) on heatsink somewhere cool.

Totally agree once set up no faffing about with feeler gauges and timing lights, unless of course you enjoy all the twiddling. :)

All you who have 123 distributors should be aware that if you read the specification sheets on the 123 website eventually they specify the maximum operating temperature is 80C.
Which is somewhat cooler than heat soak from an engine that has just been run hard then slowed down, motorway queues , service stations etc. .

Electronics in the distributor is a stupid place to put it.

  11. I took it for a little drive learned that the Hydraulic tappeted engines
    Suffer from separation anxiety ,
They don’t like being left for long do they !
Nik nik nik nik nik :D

  12. Some people are interested to read spec sheets and folk just use the 123 - I trust the latter ...

Interesting, I've not suffered that with mine. May I ask how long it was between drives that caused the anxiety and have you spoken to Dr Freud:)

Mine has broken so it reads full for 100 miles then it reads empty..

Once I replaced the distributor the remainder of the 425 mile round trip to Swansea was problem free.

  18. Removed the oil filler the traditional way, with an angle grinder.
