Removed the over riders from Gusbus and put the front mounts on Major and offered them up. Due to them being hacked slightly by a former owner, they need a little fettle before painting, new trim and fitting properly.

Oh and I polished Majors front bumper and cleaned / polished both of Gusbus' bumpers.

Blasted all the locks with graphite loaded lubricant. Helps stop them freezing up too.

So just take out the two top bolts that go into the gearbox crossmember carrier .

Ah just seen your earlier post ....right see why they have a point on the bolts to aid lining up .
I remember struggling with those when fitting box and engine together .

I did struggle once but that was because an "ear" had snapped off the threaded inset in the bell housing and sat inside it!

If i remember the issue was leaving those two bolts last and struggling as there was no wriggle room , and ended up loosening the carrier bar bolts ..twas easy then .

I usually find one goes in then I have to jack the engine a tiny bit to get the second one started. In the round the slight faffing is small compared to the many benefits. :)

  10. Took him for a spin to dry my shiny roof out.

Now I've got a really salty bottom. But, hey, that's enough about me

Steering column tube back in after replacing the ignition switch. I've also fitted a hot start relay in the engine compartment, with luck it will make the new ignition switch last longer. I've still got to tidy up the wiring and refit the instrument pod and Steering wheel but at least he starts up now.

I’ve got the apprentice on the electrics. Hope he doesn’t cock it up!

Watched some YouTube videos and realised there's a pesky piece of tinwear that needs to go on before the fan housing. So back off with that and on with a bunch of pieces
