    Thanks for the comments guys,

Was just going to use pu sealant as most others do, I'd cut the holes smaller than the 40mm they suggest, think I used 32mm as its a better fit and wont require too much gap filling.

  2. That'll be fine on the inlet, but on the exhaust you could end up with a cab full of smoke and possibly some flames

Propex say any old silicon sealant is fine, though you can get high temp stuff if you're worried.

  4. Zed's right, although I bought high temp flue sealant for mine before I knew :) I also cut my holes at 40mm so I had a lot to squirt in. My propex is in my cab and I've had no issues with fumes etc.

If you like Kruger, if you pay the postage I'll send you my tube of sealant there loads left.

Fair considerations, but I'd read before on here that Propex say pretty much any sealant is fine.

As the type of of guy who lives on the edge...I'll probably just squirt some windscreen adhesive in there! I'm soo rock and roll! :D

A kind offer thanks, I'm going to test some windscreen sealer first with a blowlamp and bit of pipe to see it starts breaking down, smoking, or igniting!

  6. Ok mate, if you want it just give me a shout, it will only end up going off and then in about 3 years time ill find it in a box and end up lobbing it out :)

  7. I used to make windscreen adhesive. It's polyurethane and burns like hell, just like black rubber really. I'd say you'll need a silicone based sealant matey :)

I have an old propex, X1 or something. If it's no bigger than yours I'm going to pinch your idea, it looks good :)

Will do, I'll let you know when to put the kettle on!

Been doing a bit on the van recently but not too much to show for it, I think its all coming together ready for paint.

A few of the jobs I've been upto though are finishing bits and pieces such as welding the seat swivel to the base of the seat, made some plates with holes for the ducting of the propex to the front/rear, loads of little bits of filler here and there where the insides have been damaged using the van as a rolling shed, fully tidied up the front seat tub bases for final priming. rust treated and epoxied the cab floor as had'nt done it previously, and made a start on repairing the poptop where the catches have pulled through the fibreglass, and reluctantly removed the cab headliner and purchased a new one, as could not get it clean enough.

As shown here I've been very busy for the last week, probably gone overboard with prepping the inside but I think it needed it

My fingerprints have vanished and the tips of my fingers are cracked and bloody, but the inside is finally prepped and painted!

Just over 1.5 litres of VW L90D Pastel White used.
