Well known that when things go well he over-indulges and ruins everything. I think he's one of those people that equates his talent with being wrecked and for all I know that is a true fact. Can't be easy if the only good things you invented required you to off your face on dangerous drugs. If I was him I'd get a nice job delivering for Tesco and forget it. .

 

Interesting fact that The Only ones were put together by producer and ex-Spooky Tooth drummer Mike Kellie (RIP).

 

He is 69 now ...so still moving .
He started living in the drug scene at the age of 16 after leaving home and doing his own thing (Perret ) that is .
An ex boarding school right off and expelled from practically every school he attended .
Think The Only Ones first started about 1976 .....They played at The Hope & Anchor venue in Islington in 1977 as i have the Album Live at the Hope & Anchor , a good old early punk venue .

 

New to me, not completely sure about it...but a great voice.

 

I hope he's not still moving, he died in 2017.

 

I mentioned Perret not Kellie ....should have typed Perrets name earlier, put him in brackets .
Mind you ...iam surprised he hasn't gone years ago .

 

Crikey, is Perret really 69 and still effing his life up with hard drugs? BRB, I'll google... Blimey, he is, I thought he was more my age!

 

Not sure if he will still be using stiff gear now with his illness ...his wife is as bad as he is , both have the same illness .

My best friend from the age of 6 was half of a couple like that. Not much chance they both spontaneously see the light at the same time. That's why I don't have any sympathy really. Doomed... but then again somehow he's made to 69.

 

They both suffer with C.O.P.D. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease . So not to be ignored ...but you know what there like .

 

That's not nice, I know someone with it. I thought she would catch Covid and that would finish her off but she's still going... slowly getting worse and worse.
At least they, unlike her, are probably aware that they only have themselves to blame. No doubt they've adjusted their lifestyles and now eat drugs rather than smoking them.
