Looks like the 'Fog on the Tyne' album behind Melanie.

Indeed it is; a nice little first pressing, gatefold sleeve, charisma label. I love "Meet me on the corner".

Wow, I'm sure I saw them at Sheffield University Students' Union in either December 1978 or December 1979, but can't see it on their tour dates. Oh well, whenever and wherever it was, they were brilliant. Edit: might have been 1977, who cares?

Yes, it's a great song. I think my favourite is 'Run for home'.

    Trivia:
I played the actual drum kit used to record Another Girl Another Planet once - It was in Clink Studios, near London Bridge. PIL were rehearsing in another room. Nice small Gretch kit, the snare sounded lovely. :)
Clink is gone now, redeveloped no doubt.

  8. If you enjoyed that one, and if you don't already have a copy, it's worth seeking out Lindisfarne's "Magic in The Air" :)

One of those weird coincidences….. was listening to Donny Hathaways peerless version of Jealous Guy…. Then started to listen to a bit of Thin Lizzy, then started to listen to Frankie Miller because of the Brian Robertson connection….. about 3 tracks into Full House is Frankie’s belting version of JG…. wonder if he was familiar with the Donny Hathaway cover…

Rehearsing/jamming with some punky peeps, Tyrone Thomas (Alternative TV) and some other less well known people...not that Tyrone was exactly a mega star! Strange days - saw the Birthday Party playing at a squat in New Cross. South East London squat scene was interesting. Bjork was another SE London squatter - been to her squat a few times but never bumped into her, I don't think she was there much. For a few years if you weren't (preferably) addicted to heroin and squatting in sarf London, you weren't "where it was at".

For anyone who isn't a Zappa fan, but wonders, here's an easy way in... I still love this.

The last day and a half of work before we finish for the holidays, so it’s Christmas tunes all the way in my truck. No bag humbug here, I love it!
