Thanks buddy. Would you go for 20w 50 over 15w 40?

Dean, it really doesnt matter. Either will be better for your internals than sae 30!
If your engine is a bit tired, 20w50 will probably give slightly better oil pressure.

This is all new to me. I had no idea the thinner oil you get the more it leaks. My whole engine bay is covered in oil and Im thinking this now is the case.

Honestly, either will do. Make sure you get a mineral oil though.

Others may disagree but use the Halfords stuff. It should only be in there for 3000 miles.....

  15. Its called halfords classic well the 20/50 ive got is ,its normally on offer too, what baysearcher zed n others says is right it shouldnt really matter you shouldnt have oil all over the place so you may need to look elsewhere ,

What one would you recommend? What high street place can you get from?

  17. Oil leaks won't be due to 30 grade oil. It'll be the usual things (pushrod tube seals etc)

Personally, when I had a normal engine, I used the Halfords 15w40 mineral you linked to.

  19. Any 15W40 or 20W50 will do, including stuff from the supermarket.

Comma multigrade will do too.
