Struggling to find the zip wire you got a link? Cars are the Stars looks like it might have closed too
There’s a Go Ape at Whinlatter near Keswick. Might be cheaper, on the same theme https://goape.co.uk/locations/whinl...m_medium=organic&utm_campaign=GoApeWhinlatter
That's the southerners price @Razzyh - you need to put on a Yorkshire accent when asking for activity prices.
you can go up from Seathwaite, Keswick side (and accessed by the best bus service ever!!! lol) . so no travel to Wasdale. Its a days walk out and back though unless your a mountain goat or Joss Naylor! (47 minutes up and down!!!, think that was Wasdale route)
There were plans for a Zip but they got knocked back a good few years ago now. Then the guy who owned the mine died... (crashed his helicopter up there!!) as did the idea. Just do the mine tour if you've a few hours to kill.
Whats Yorkshire got to do with it... wash yer mouth out lol! Keswick is Cumbria, was Cumberland. Two accents in Cumbria - south is Lancashire (cos thats where some of it used to be, mid and north Cumberland (Cumbria) ... and don't think they are Geordies either (o tell them they sound remotely like one) . That will get you ticked off!
From Seathwaite via the corridor route, 30 years ago I remember it taking me about 90 minutes. I then walked down the other side and into the Langdales and then all the way into Ambleside, that was a long but good day on my own. I dont understand the want for zip wires in a location such as the Lakes. In the old days people would buy a length of washing line and do some rock climbing.
When I stayed in Cumbria earlier in the year I told the B&B Landlady that I was going to the Dales and she replied "Bloody 'Eck, what do you want to go to Yorkshire for? Very proud and territorial.
Best I can hope for these days is up in 3.5 hours down in 2 3/4 ish. It’s a struggle towards the top with peripheral vascular disease mate I do keep doing them though
It’s quick thrills no previous experience required just money. I’d love to do an easy route somewhere just for that feeling again, but doubt I could it’s probably why I keep walking them.
