Tell me why I shouldn't buy a motorhome?

  1. Like the Hymer (name always makes me laugh!) and the space.

We have no where to put something that size as the garage is massive -it's not that big and no OSP beyond that. Couldn't leave it on the road as narrow ish street.
But it is a good family wagon and seems we are/were in the same boat.

  2. Yeah it's my second name too, but choose it for the build quality. We are quite lucky that we do have the room to store it, although not covered up as in a garage, which does concern me a bit.

  6. Ha I wish I had a tenth of what the other hymers had, choice was purely down to practical choices, no names were involved :)

  7. There comes a point when you probably have to think whether you're taking too much stuff with you.

    i didn,t buy a campervan because i like camping i go camping because i have a campervan , otherwise i don,t like camping

  9. Car seats and pram/pushchair is unavoidable with small kids. Can't put them in camper on floor like we used to with the dog. The bldy seats are huge!
that's main problem- everything else can go in cupboards. Then with 4 people sleeping in camper there not much room to manoeuvre. An awning is essential as storage if nothing else and a place to sit but it defeats the point of having a camper somewhat putting up a bldy tent.

  10. We always went camping before a we had a camper van. I always liked old motors and tinkering. So we got a bay.

I do if its just me and the daughter ...

If the wife tags along that's where the excess baggage comes in...

There's a woman and her son on the campsite...pitched up in her split and windbreak. ...maybe she'd like to swap......oops hang on, its not a caravan club site ..

I can't dissuade you. I am a fully converted motorhome owner. It is a nice one though
