Refill it with Castrol Syntrans Transaxle 75W-90 or Castrol Syntrans Multivehicle 75W-90 or similar Fully Synthetic GL-4. Don’t use any GL-4 from the back of the garage, they are not all the same.

3.5 litre should take the level to the filler but don’t overfill it.

I did nothing except find half a bottle of Bucky in the back. Decided to buy some from the Buckfast Abbey gift shop when we stopped there. Nobody freaked out or was bottled when we drank some.

Looked at a few rust bits and my soon to be MOT fail bit of sheet metal reinforcing one rear seatbelt plate mounting bodged before holiday. Spent time considering how to repair it without taking the entire bus apart, or setting fire to it with the welder like usual.

Emptied her after a successful trip to the Isle of Wight. A most enjoyable time was had by all :)

  5. I set my timing because I had the engine out last week doing the clutch and rear crank oil seal and the dizzy moved as I was putting it back in. I also finished fitting the new rear silencer and got the interior light to work when opening the doors. Gonna leave it now till after dubtoberfest hate doing anything new when I have a trip booked it never seems to end well

It’s only gone and passed it’s MOT

It may be able to be MOT exempt now, but for me an independent examination gives me peace of mind that the van is safe for me to carry the family in.

Also I don’t trust insurance companies should I ever have to make a claim.

But less than 500 miles in a year is going to make the current Mrs T bleat on about selling it as it’s not used.

If you haven’t ordered both the mounting kit and the handle, he has some Westy style handles which aren’t on the website too. Had a good chat with him, couldn’t have been more helpful.

Oh I thought it came with the handle

Unless the site has been updated since a couple of weeks back it was just the mounting kit, when I phoned up he mentioned he had some JK handles in stock too.

Thanks. I’ve just messaged him. If he had some handles then great.

Makes closing the door easier if you have a sink unit in the way - no more hurling the door forwards several times, just slide gently then pull the rear handle forward the last bit and inwards.

  15. Fitted it this morning. Fitted perfectly, great to have a well engineered bit of kit. British too, and from my neck of the woods. Butty for president!

  18. Went to the Amberley classic car show in him. Total washout unfortunately. Horizontal rain all day. Maybe 30 cars out of 200 booked. Didn't even take any pictures.
