I have one of them repro ones It's ok but I wouldn't rave about it

God they've gone up a lot like double

 

They were but they looked hand beaten out of old dustbin lids compared to the originals, but they have upped the quality now, as I understand it.

 

Is it solid ready to be blasted and powder coated? Doesn't need any bits repaired?

Its a bit on the thick side and required a small amount of fiddling to get it fitted, but it does the job fine.

 

Hmm maybe I'll check the state of the other bit aswell then.....

 

Maybe just the photo but still looks a bit wobbly crinkly to me!

After several more frustrating hours welding/blowing holes/ cutting out/starting again I'm getting peed off....and the front tin needs a tickle too...

No, but it does come in a shiny-ish black already and will never rust (although it may deteriorate in other ways!)

Where/how big are your holes? Could plate over them and hold the plating with pop rivets, if you're not too fussy.

 

Theres 3 main areas need patching up, had another couple of hrs on it and made some progress. Think my main issue was not cutting out enough, so I WENT LARGE .
Did the the difficult bit for the 4th time and it's much better, needs bit more dressing yet but might get away with it.


Other 2 areas are just flat so not such a pita

I'm sure with the bottom one, you could fix it to your lounge wall and display some books, CD 's or some nice Lladro figurines on it.
