    Certainly as far as ebay is concerned, and paypal too judging by the 'issues' I've had with them both as a seller - free postage means you (the customer) are paying just the item price, and therefore the whole amount is refundable. If I offer free postage, I must refund the whole item price. Paypal will always find on the side of the buyer (sadly for honest sellers like me) so if you're not happy, take it further. Item not as described. Cut 'n' dry.

    No I'm just refitting all my old stuff, spruced up with a bit of spray paint incuding the big bit I was going to replace . even though it looks Marmite.

    After further inspection most of it needs replacing really but I got to draw the line somewhere, so it can al stay for now

    That is for when you buy something perfectly acceptable but change your mind.
    You are returning something that is not as advertised. Get the full value back or ramp up the complaints.

    Yay!!! We opened a dispute with PayPal & just had an email to say that they have ruled in our favour & the missing £12.50 will be winging it's way back to our account! :thumbsup:

    Yes , what Mrs wombat didn't say was, I opened a dispute for the money and after 8 days the guy hadn't bothered his arse to respond in any way, so I escalated it to a claim. (Ooooh be afraid), which was then successful.

    And this after he claimed there was nothing wrong with the tinware, then I had to phone twice to ask for my refund, only to be fobbbed off.
    So there you go folks, the guys a knob.

    Kingfisher kustoms , - don't waste your time or money

    I honestly don't know why such folk don't just grit their teeth and do a refund, right or wrong. Trying to make a point just gets them so much bad publicity on t'internet. Nuts. Still, good you got sorted.

    Perfect advice, I had a long "discussion" with another vw supplier about free postage and refunds. Got the full amount back in the end but I imagine they still pull the same thing on other people, they are now firmly on my Marmite list. The amount of online retailers who do not understand the distance selling regs (can't remember the new name for them) is worrying.
