It reminds me of the time I bought a half water filled rusted solid engine for £51off eBay .. even as I picked it up the vendor was still insisting it was effectively a runner. On that one I salvaged the case, crank, flywheel and connecting rods. Got 27000 miles out of it using recycled parts from another engine plus a set of new pistons and cylinders.. about £500..
I think it might have been a runner before it melted an exhaust valve back in the 1980s when it was pulled from the bus, then left lying around as it had developed about 5mm of oily muddy crud - the pictures on eBay were very low resolution, the engine looked fuzzy .. I turned up and it was fuzzy.
