made up some pipes to prevent me having to trim the top hat and reducing from 38mm to 35mm.

worked myself up until my loom gets delivered

things have been rather slow recently, unfortunately.

Anyway I've received the loom back and started fitting into an enclosure to hold everything neatly.

I've fitted an alternator relocation bracket,just need to add some beefy grounds to the alternator bolts.

new waterpump to fit and throttle cable to sort too.

unfortunately been laid off work so thats playing with my head a little... doesn't bother me. usually but with such a project undergoing its a pain

Whenever, without fail, whenever you do something different you'll be challenged.

Once we embraced that arse of a life law it now seems a bit odd not to hit a brick wall round every other turn.
You'll get there mate, you know where we are if you need the ******* taking at any time

 

allowed myself a few hours to get the Loom in, I can now fit the tank and start to close things up.

trying to accomplish and finish all the time consuming stuff. I have deva dubs and rods next week and Glastonbury to attend so I'm losing lots of time.

ended up making straps for the tank as the originals I cut due to the bolts being absolute marmite and round off.

crude, but does the job...

Will that plastic fuel filter put up with draw of an injection pump?
Ben at Fellows pointed me in the direction of metal cannister one.

 

Yes, it's a standard VW fuel injection one. It's fitted before the fuel pump so is gravity fed from the tank.

so now I've got all the loom linked in with the bus loom. just the last bit of oil light and alternator to sort, I'll do that once the engine is mounted to enable me to do a neat job.


im now worked up for a few days, going out into Manchester tomorrow for a good ol shindig so I've completed as much as possible today.

fitted new bearing into the flywheel.

fitted the subaru/vw clutch and a few other sprucing up bits

I have a timing belt to do, valve cover seals and spark plug seals and then im ready to fit the engine and box.

unfortunately I have no one to help me move the engine at this moment so jobs stopped for a while.

then it's a case of plumbing in the radiator and plugging the loom in.

and seeing what happens.

An exhaust to sort and off we go just entering day week five.

its quite sad leaving it sat on a drive without the pleasure of using it
