  3. Yeah they will be fine it’s just my ocd tendencies
After they’ve been on a while and I’m using the bus it won’t bother me as much.

I think it’s just another annoyance after the batch change of paint that’s given me different shades of green on the body panels.

Well maybe you saw that oil post I did earlier on show us your last photo?
I rang Smith and Allen and told them the earlier batch looked like pee from a badly dehydrated human and the latest batch was same human but hydrated this time with 8 pints of Carling inside him!
Anyway the tech said it's perfectly normal and due to the variability in additive stock.
Who knew...same with paint I guess, but then visually that's a bit more critical

Anyway, I like that green you've chosen and it'll look the mutts when it's all together :)

  9. Even tho I like powdercoated parts I find it still rusts if thin or on sharp edges .. my 914 side sils I had textured powdercoated then I sprayed raptor bed liner over the top

  10. It’s the same for any coating really it’s always thinner on the edges and that’s where corrosion normally starts.
There’s only so much you can do.

Really enjoying the thread Rick. But I’m only on page 30! Something like 2015! It’s starting to get juicy me thinks. Doing a couple of pages most days!

  12. Looking fab @paradox

I’m with you on paint colours. I picked one for the boat that looked dark green on the tin but was quite a bit lighter and brighter when on.

  13. Cleaned up one headlamp bowl and surrounding area
Used a small brush to daub zinc rich primer into the join between the bowls and front panel and also the mounting tabs
Then gave it a quick coat of zinc rich primer from a rattle can.

That looks a bit like split / early beetle headlamps the way you’ve sanded the headlight recesses back

So expecting it to be bad
I stripped it back to bare metal to be pleasantly surprised it was just surface corrosion and hasn’t holed anywhere.
The panel is original and is in really good condition for a 44 year old van:)
Then I gave it a good coat of zinc rich primer.

    Ahh yes I remember now.

It'll look better with that new version you had mocked up t'other day, especially with the spot lights.
