I’m not a copper; I know and accept I’m not perfect.

  3. I've never said that they are perfect and have stated that some should not be in the job. I've only every tried to enlighten or give a different angle to the lynch mob who cry ACAB.
.This issue comes up at least once a year normally after someone gets done for speeding and for the past 5/6 years you'v always critised on a general basis but never offered anything constructive.
You clearly have a strong view on how the job should be done and it would be nice for you to explain how you'v coped with shift work and working nights, how your family have coped with having your days off cancelled and having to work at Christmas or their birthdays, how you handled the mental stresses of picking up body bits and dealing with next of kin, how you've pulled yourself together after being assaulted, how you've saved people' lives including being spat at and bitten by a drug addict trying to top himself. I could go on but you'd just put it all down to ego or being defensive.
Please share your life experiences to help others and not just take cheap, one sentence snipes to stir things up. After 5 years of your caustic self opinioned remarks I'm starting to think that's all you do. In social media terms you may even be considered a troll.
Ooops my defensive egotistical thoughts have taken over. Back to the donuts.
I have no doubt you'll reply but trust me, I don't care anymore. I'm used to your narrow mindness on the subject.
    Have a nice day.

    Ha ha ha
Another “we have it so bad” post from a cop.
Not relevant to you as you’re out, but if you don’t like it; don’t do it. It’s really that simple.
The woe is me posts get boring.

I don’t need to tell you how I’ve had it bad because it’s got sod all to do with you.

Oh, and being called self opinionated by a cop is gold.

  5. Not been on since page 3, did the op complain? and when is his compensation coming for police harassment?

The funny thing is I don’t believe a complaint is warranted. If the tyre wasn’t bald he wouldn’t have been stopped. Simple.
The extra (wrong) advice from the cop was just that: wrong.

I know they have so difficult aspects of the job but at the end of the day the officer should of been professional and not lectured untruthful information or personal feelings about someone’s choice of vehicle.

This is one way they will lose the respect of normal general people.

  9. Spot on.

I didn't like it so I got out and still do something that I'm not wild about, but in 10 years I've not had to pick up a body part from the SRN.

  10. I sympathise with the `bad` side of police work , it`s something that any untrained , unskilled joe public wouldn`t know where to start coping with some of the horrendous situations they come across . What i`ve found in my limited contact with the law is that the basic premise of innocent until proven guilty has gone , everyone is scum and have to be dealt with accordingly .
I`ve never been arrested , never been cautioned and never been held in a cell but on 3 occassions in the last 20 years i`ve been in the area of some incident and questioned - on the street - in an aggressive manner and told i`d be wheeled off to the station because i wasn`t carrying ID . No lip on my part by the way , i just wanted to move along and mind my own business . On one of the occassions i`d accepted voluntary redundancy two weeks before so truthfully stated i was unemployed at which point things got a bit silly .
Just the wrong place at the wrong time without sufficient proof of identity - and that`s a crime ?

To put it all in perspective , police work isn`t easy and there`s good and bad officers but it`s a choice you made and you can leave at any time ....
In reality , the money`s good , and you`ll retire at 55 with a ringfenced pension , probably to be re-recruited as a `civvy` because of your experience and lack of funding to employ full time officers .

I have a gentlemans agreement with the police . I respect and obey the laws of the this country , they seem to leave me alone , although i too would feel aggrieved being lectured on my choice of vehicle by a cock who made up his version of the rules as he went along .

Is anyone wild about their job?
I used to be but not any more!
My first 3 posts on this thread were pretty supportive of the cops. Then a cop decides to justify one of their own lieing, because of the pressures of the job... boo hoo.
