On my bus you can most easily see the connector between the windscreen wiper and the wiper switch on the column if you lift out the instrument cluster.

There is a plug quite a distance away, easier to crimp connectors to the new loom.

……. and another thing, my motor attached to the wiper mechanism with a flat on the spindle, not splines.

Back together, now have intermittent wipe, unfortunately still only the one speed ….. well two if you count off.
All wiring looks ok and it wipes in both fast and slow positions…. just at the same speed.

  11. Did you fit a new motor?

    Certainly did, birthday boy.
Used link to eBay from thread .

  13. I would get your meter out and check for +12 on the motor fast & slow connections with the switch in the appropriate position. Wiring error (or dodgy switch)?

It works at both positions, just no increase in speed…..so that would suggest new motor??

  15. Possibly. Most odd, tho'

I'd take motor out and dab +12 on each of the speed connections.

Thanks for that….. glad I didn’t put glove box back in….

  17. Unlikely I'd think that a new motor wouldn't work on both speeds.

? …. so your suggestion is check motor runs at both speeds by sticking 12v to the appropriate terminals and go from there.

  19. Yes, or if you can unplug the leads under the dash, dab +12 on the appropriate connections.

Nothing wrong with the motor, connected “fast” wire to 12v permanent live and it went back and forth like the clappers.
So it seems it the column switch/wiring at fault.
Assuming that there’s actually a wire at the fast speed position on the switch, could I run a new wire to the red wire on @snotty ’s connector?
