    Time to reread this.

    and this
Written in 1957 by British-Australian author Nevil Shute (1899-1960), "On the Beach" is a post-apocalyptic novel, which details the experiences of a mixed group of people in Melbourne after a preceding nuclear war and the subsequent arrival of deadly radiation

I remember watching the Animation of When The Wind Blows.
I was a bit younger then, but it did frighten me a bit, as I think there was a lot on the telly about nuclear explosions. Also it made me raise a lot of questions about it to my parents, who really only knew what I knew, from the telly. Came out around the time of the AIDS adverts, too. I remember them. A big grave stone falling with AIDS written on it. I was around 17 or so, so a worrying time all round. Used to think that if one didn’t get me, the other one might.
