  1. Cavity wax top up completed (Dynax S50) and underbody anti corrosion treatment (Dynax UB) applied for another year :) I have to say the Dynax UB is much easier and cleaner to apply than Hammerite underbody protection - the Hammerite stuff tends to clog at the nozzle.

  2. shouted at the thing again.............
a repair to the oil strainer bolt didn't work and over night oil has started to drip.(and it has no oil in it) going to be an ass getting the bolt out and a new one in......
come up with the last chance idea. i have ordered some stud extenders m6 on the inside m8 on the outside which means i will have to drill the strainer and cover to match........
anyone got any good ideas for getting that damn bolt replaced APART from strip the engine to pieces..........

  3. Sat in it and ate some applie pie, stroked my chin and contemplated what I might do at techenders besides drinking lots of tea.

  5. Went camping in the rain with my son and the spaniel ... a reminder of how small these buses are when you have to stay inside. We were the smallest van with the youngest occupants on the site. rained yesterday evening, through the night and into this morning.

  6. Whipped me column off, changed the ignition switch so I can enjoy the luxury of the S contact (radio on with ignition off, radio off when key out). Finally removed the remnants of my squisher valve, washer switch now on the stalk, not the dash.

Gave up trying to add an extra brass contact to SWF's convoluted wiper switch for the delay wipe .

Took the swivel seat out, removed the black wheelarch lining and cleaned off a lot of the old adhesive. Found a bump behind the seat belt mounting bolt which didn't look right.
Prodded and poked, gave it a knock with a chisel and found its rust bubbling through:

As it stands, we think it needs about an inch square cutting out & replacing  the rest of the arch looks okay!

Resurrected an old sticker off a notch side window that was in the attic.
Anyone still have a viable diagnostic socket in their van?
Mine is still in situ with all wires connected. It would be interesting to see the data it might show on a "readout".

  10. It won't show anything interesting. The whole system was useless.

Maybe you could use some of the wiring to activate relays.......?

  15. You could. About all it's fit for.

Oerr - I think they did some empty Carling cans in that lot too...That fell off the scooter ..

I bet they powder coated an earthing point or two to give the bus something to break down with after you give it a working engine...
