Over the weekend we trailered the camper up to Pontefract to a nice chap who is going to tackle the bodywork and paint. Hopefully in a few months we'll bring it back to reunite it with the engine that I rebuilt, and I can then start on a new interior based on the old Devon layout that increasingly resembles weetabix.

Anyway, first day in and he's got busy with it!

First, an interesting discovery: the front spare wheel mount is actually a caravan sink (according to the sticker)!

Stainless too. It's a bit of a mess on the panel underneath though, but I think he'll be replacing the whole front rather than messing about patching bits in

More stripping of the interior. The rear wheel arches are not great but the floor isn't too bad

We dropped really lucky with ours when I look at yours with the front panel removed, we had no further rot at the bottom and the lip below the panel was intact. We did have a bit of rot on the defo panel and some behind the top of the panel but none of it was a concern, just surface rust after investigation!

And some new bits from Schofields to go on

The list of panels on the Schofields invoice is quite large

It could have been a lot worse though (but he hasn't scratched the surface of what needs cutting out yet!)

Are the wheel arch the £400 ones? with weld through primer
If they are their almost a perfect fit, although I did have to stick a trolley jack underneath the front of mine to get it close enough to weld.

Yes, that's about what the front arches cost. Rear ones were a fraction of that each

More prep. The front panel should go on today
