I test drive a few of these a couple of years back when I was Subaru-curious. Good little motor, kind of wish I’d just bought one even if I’d only owned it for a few months and then sold it on.

The one I was close to buying had a different engine number on the car to the the logbook. As i had one eye on a conversion this kind of put me off a little!

  3. good evening all

today i drove to work in my car,

today I went to leave work in my car and noticed immediately the fuel pump didnt prime...

i rip up the floor, find the pump and sender and devise a simple test lamp out of some cable and funnily enough a random fuel pump id borrowed to syphon the bay.

bravo, i have power upon opening the door.

next step, i got a lift from work to view a subaru. awesome thing, super quiet, super clean, non molested, 107k.

i then drive back to work... ring recovery..

check Facebook marketplace in the meantime... find a guy splitting mk4 golfs...

he had one, 12 miles away, recovery cancelled, pick up pump, 20 quid.

    drive back.. fit the pump..

pay deposit on subaru, drive home.. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

  13. its a subaru approved install, sigma m30, pain in the arse as its fully encapsulated in the loom and taped and heatshrinked back up.

I've stripped everything off it bar the keypad and control unit and can still get the car to start.

gonna speak with nick as i could wasted time removing all the splices if hes gonna snip half of the loom out, ie the central locking and headlight/indicator signals etc.

so if i send it off as the bare minimum I'd get it back okay

  20. Get the rad put and chop the front anyway it makes it much easier to pull the engine out with the crane
