I haven’t been to London for 45 years and don’t intend to but out of interest can anybody enlighten me on what this means…Am I compliant but would still have to pay Edit. DOH just realised that it’s congestion charge I’d have to pay
Its true for alot of people, our cars dont produce half of the emissions they used to, And were all using less generally, and were a country producing around 1% of the worlds pollution, but we're going to be taxed to death in the name of climate change, And... The planet won't change! It seems climate "science" is skewed to suit whoever is needing to make money..!
Use the GOV.co.uk website for a definitive answer . Mine comes up as non-compliant on the TFL website so I made enquiries months ago and was told there were 'teething problems' with the TFL site but because there's loads of wedge being pumped into the GOV website it's far better and actually works - unlike our lame arse government... Imo we should take into account that climate science and those who profit are different. The science behind man's impact on the climate is clear Although the climate has changed over the millenniums without us, our impact now is clear (contrary to Mr Bellamy followers ). People, companies and governments will all use the info to their best advantage. That being said, it doesn't change the fact that our planet's climate is changing and it is impacting on us already. Sea levels have risen (check your facts the info is out there if you are interested, and it's not caused by our ships!), average temperatures are going up, the extremes are more frequent. What can we do, not a lot; but we all have a choice to do what we can, if we want to. The planet will survive, will we: probably. Do we deserve this planet that we share with multitudes of other species....you can answer that one. Rant over
This came to mind when you said that Steve..... "We Britons had at that time particularly settled the it was treasonable to doubt our having and our being the best of everything: otherwise, while I was scared by the immensity of London, I think I might have had some faint doubts whether it was not rather ugly, crooked, narrow, and dirty." C Dickens, Great Expectations, 1860.
